Alas de America is developing a vocational training and certification program for high school students aged 16 and older. Students will be eligible for free training by the Institute that will qualify them as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT).
Wellness in the Military
The Institute offers hatha yoga and wellness classes to United States Marines and their dependents stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Classes are held on base, through Marine Corps Community Services.
Wellness Research
In conjunction with David Chen, PhD, CSUF Kinesiology, we are currently evaluating a three-year Carol M. White federal physical education grant awarded to The Accelerated School in Los Angeles.
The Institute plans to continue to offer grants to individuals conducting university level research in the area of health and wellness. The Institute also conducts independent research in wellness topics, relying on the expertise of its board of directors, officers and volunteers.
